Where HastingsNow fits
We’re Peter and Ashley, and we’re building HastingsNow as a living digital magazine about Hastings, Minnesota.
Our focus is the people behind the places: the owner preparing to open, the volunteer setting up before an event, the artist finishing a project and the neighbor whose experience helps us understand this community.
Through original photography, video, interviews and local features, we want to help people get to know Hastings—and create a growing collection of its stories over time.
By “living,” we mean a publication where new stories arrive, existing stories can gain new chapters, and earlier moments remain available to explore. We’re building that collection one story and one follow-up at a time.
Downtown, Northside, Southside and Westside are browsing sections within HastingsNow. They are ways to explore one community, not official neighborhood boundaries or separate publications.
Our contribution does not depend on being the only storyteller. We want to create original work, credit other people’s contributions and help readers find relevant reporting and information at the source.
