At Squeaky Wheel Pottery in downtown Hastings, they believe clay is for everyone—whether you’re 5 or 95. This summer, the studio is buzzing with hands-on creativity for all ages.
Kids’ Summer Clay Times are in full swing, offering screen-free, tactile fun where young makers explore clay through themed weekly sessions. From whimsical animals to nature-inspired pieces, each project is designed to let kids get messy, creative, and proud of what they make. Drop them off for two hours and get amazed by what you’ll see when you return! … And we don’t mean the “product” but rather the big proud grin on their face.
Behind the Wheel: Pottery for Teens and tweens gives older kids and teens a chance to step up their skills and try their hand at the pottery wheel. It’s equal parts challenge and fun, with guidance from teaching artists who help them center, shape, and throw their first pots—and maybe even find a new passion.
Ongoing Adult Pottery Classes continue all summer long. From beginners learning the basics to seasoned potters honing their craft, the evening and weekend classes create space for grown-ups to slow down, get centered, and make something with their hands.
Whether you’re a curious kid, a creative teen, or a grown-up who’s ready to try something new, they’ve got a seat at the table (and a wheel with your name on it).
